citycalendarThe City of Bowling Green has released its 2017 Calendar and 2016 Annual Report. This year, the calendar theme celebrates the City’s diversity by showcasing images provided by the Bowling Green International Festival and the Bowling Green Daily News.

Various facts about the City and its diverse makeup are included. For example, according to the calendar’s introduction by City Manager Kevin DeFebbo, recent census data shows that about 13% of Bowling Green residents were born in other countries.

This diversity provide Bowling Green with a cultural richness and maturity not found in may other cities our size” he says.

citycalendar2Other 2016 statistics include: there are 264 subscribers to the City’s bilingual e-Newsletter Amigos Resource Network; 70 newly Naturalized Citizens were recognized at the inaugural Reception for New Americans; 243 City staff members received Cultural Competency Training; 2077 minutes of over-the-phone interpreters services were provided to individuals with limited English proficiency accessing non-emergency City services and 4,913 minutes over-the-phone interpreter’s services were provided to individuals with limited English proficiency accessing emergency City services of police.

The calendar is free to pick up in various City government buildings.
