Katelyn has been volunteering for the BG International Festival most of her life.  She filled in as announcer at the age of 11 when the storytelling stage’s host no-showed.  For years she has run the World Stage, from the small children’s stage it began as to the showcase stage it is today. She has logged many hours laminating BGIF signs and on the banner crew since she was a kid.

Formerly a Greenwood High Marching Band trumpet player, Katelyn recently finished her Master’s Degree in Public Health at UK where she was also a research assistant.  She works in Lexington as an HIV Prevention Specialist at AVOL (Aids Volunteers, Inc.).  She spends her free time traveling, searching for Pokémon or hanging with her two cats watching Dr. Who or the latest Anime.

At BGIF, Katelyn greets our artists, prepares them for their performances and introduces them. The World Stage lineup this year includes:
